The Monterey Car Week

A priceless experience for friends and family
Like the Goodwood Festival of Speed or the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Monterey Car Week is a must for anyone who shares a passion for fine automobiles. Held annually along the stunning California coastline, this event transforms the Monterey Peninsula into a mecca for the finer things on four wheels. From the elegance of Quail to the thrill of exclusive auctions, Monterey Car Week offers an unparalleled experience where history, luxury, and innovation converge.
Grand Touring Automobiles owner Paul Cummings, along with his wife Lisa, and children Emily, Ethan, and Ella, are Monterey Car Week regulars. For them, it is a family tradition—an opportunity to gather and make memories together. And where business and family come together, their customers, too, are invited to join the experience.
For the past three years, they have hosted a small group for a highlights tour of Monterey Car Week. This year’s Grand Touring Automobiles experience offered a full immersion into the world of classic and contemporary masterpieces, connection with fellow enthusiasts, and insider access to the industry's finest offerings.
After travelling in on Thursday, the intimate group gathered for an introductory dinner at The Pocket in Carmel-by-the-Sea. The restaurant became a favourite for the Cummings family last year, after Paul and Lisa discovered it during a trip to Monterey. The upscale casual restaurant delivered a customized menu of GTA favorites, including Heitz Cellars wines, Ruinart champagne, and a selection of Italian-Californian appetizers and entrees to suit all tastes.
The first day of the tour featured a day at The Quail: a Motorsports Gathering, capped by two premium opportunities—an evening at Bernardus Lodge with the Global CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars or an evening in the Lamborghini Lounge at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The next morning, following a morning at leisure, guests gathered for a tour of OEM houses within Carmel Valley, Big Sur, and on the Pebble Beach grounds. These exclusive pop-up luxury lifestyle experiences are a Monterey Car Week tradition. Held in spectacular private homes, host brands provide carefully curated dining and beverage offerings, along with the option to meet executives, test drive vehicles, and learn more about the craftsmanship and values that bring their brands to life. Each experience is different, with Automobili Pininfarina, Bugatti, The Little Car Company, Koenigsegg, Hennessey, and Lamborghini, all playing host to guests from Grand Touring Automobiles.
The journey concluded with a traditional evening cocktail reception and seated dinner at Grasing’s, Carmel-by-the-Sea. But while the program officially ended on Saturday, some guests chose to remain for the final day of Monterey Car Week, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. There, 214 cars from 16 countries were presented on the greens of the Pebble Beach golf course in spectacular fashion.
Monterey Car Week is the ultimate celebration for automotive enthusiasts and luxury car buyers alike. More than just a chance to admire rare and exquisite vehicles, it is an immersion in the world of automotive excellence with like-minded connoisseurs, and perhaps even the opportunity to acquire the next prized addition to a curated collection.
